Smithsonian Museum

Hometown Glory (the NYIP award winning image seen below) has been selected for Smithsonian's Hometown Teams exhibit The exhibit will tour the United States from Feb. 2014 through Jan. 2021.

The Hometown Teams exhibit captures the very heart of both small and local teams while displaying the excitement of college and professional athletics as well. The diversity and enthusiasm of the players shown in the picture paints a true picture of sports all across America

The exhibit is divided into six major themes: Sports Everywhere; Fields of Glory; Take Me Out to the Ballgame; Community Pride; Playing the Game; and Sports Explosion. These themes include personal stories from players, objects, images and videos that convey the impact of sports on people throughout the United States.

The NYIP Hometown contest culminated with a photography exhibition in New York City. The photographs of the grand-prize winner, first-prize winners, and runners-up in each category were displayed in a grand space in Manhattan, and viewed by thousands of prominent and influential New Yorkers.

Brenda volunteered time to shoot the ad for the Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a International Christian Ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live.
